Laia Cabrera, Filmmaker, Video Artist

Laia Cabrera is a filmmaker and video artist, awarded director and multimedia creator, working in the fields of art Installations-new cinema, creating a wide range of artworks, from traditional and experimental filmmaking, virtual theater, interactive art and immersive projection mapping installations. Her last works were presented in Times Square, Armory Arts Week- New York, Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), St John the Divine Cathedral, Nuit Blanche DC, La Mama, Dixon Place, Time Center, Art all Night DC, Georgetown Glow, PBS’s and Tempietto di Bramante, Rome, Italy. The video interactive art installation “The Now” inaugurated the largest interactive digital public art platform COOLTURE IMPACT (Times Square) in New York, and her latest video immersive installation “Illusion” is currently exhibited in Los Angeles at the Flutter Experiential Art Gallery in LA. She is exploring new ways of using space and the visual imaginary as a tool for narrative storytelling and audience connection, driven by both scenographic and dramaturgical aspects and creating immersive content experiences. Her innovative interdisciplinary work merges cinematic arts, dance, music, theater, digital arts and interactivity presented worldwide in leading venues, art galleries and festivals.

Nana Simopoulos, Musician, Sound Designer

Nana has been on the forefront of world fusion music with several recordings of original music, soundtracks, music for dance and theater. CDs include Daughters Of The Sun, After The Moon, Still Waters, Wings and Air, Skins and Live at the B&W Montreux Music Festival, Vol. II.  She has performed with the NYC Opera and RAI Symphony Orchestra, and with her group at the Warsaw Electronic Festival, Symphony Space, Kennedy Center and St John the Divine NYC.  Her musical quartet appeared in Lykavitos and Veakeo at the 1st Cultural Capital of Europe festival in Athens in 1985. She has created dance commissions for Dance Theatre of Harlem, the Joffrey Ballet, American Dance Festival, Ballet Hispanico, and North Carolina Dance Theater.  She has conducted original works at the Joyce theatre in NYC, on Broadway and her score “Vessel” was performed by WSO. Her film scores are for Domain of the Senses; Touch and theatrical productions of Antigone Through Time, Conversations With the Goddesses, by Soho Repertory Theatre.  Musicals include An Absolute Mystery, Matrix Maison, Studs Turkel’s American Dreams, Lost and Found.  She is currently collaborating with Laia Cabrera and Co in creating music for live interactive immersive video art that is showing in Los Angeles, New York City and online.

Isabelle Duverger, Visual Artist, Projection Mapper

Isabelle is an award winning French interdisciplinary artist born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France. She is a graduate of Estienne School of Art in graphic communications in Paris. Her work includes public art and projection mapping on buildings, immersive interactive video and sound installations, photography, video-art and painting. She is a three-time New York Innovative Theater Awards nominee - Outstanding Innovative Design.

Her work has been presented in renowned venues such as Spring/Break Art Show (Armory Arts Week), Central Park Summer Stages, Times Square Plaza, St John the Divine Cathedral, La Mama, Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in New York, NJPAC, Flutter Experience Art Gallery, Los Angeles, Nuit Blanche and Georgetown Glow, Washington DC, Teatros del Canal, Madrid and Fabra i Coats Contemporary Art Centre, Barcelona, Spain and Tempietto Di Bramante, Roma, Italy among others.

As a visual artist, she has worked recurrently on beliefs, death and what remains, identity and its existential meaning, the micro and macro, and more recently on a series about love and desire.

Caryn Heilman, Choreographer, Multimedia Artist, Musician

Caryn Heilman brings her knowledge and artistry to a focus on the body and the artistic environment it moves in. She loves to sculpt movement, sound and light to create audience-interactive stage, media works and somatic cinema. She performed as a soloist for 10 years with the Paul Taylor Dance Co. in over 50 countries at Paris Opera Garnier, New York City Center, Kennedy Center, London's Sadler's Wells... She is featured in the Oscar-nominated documentary Dancemaker and choreographed for Julian Moore in The Forgotten, for The Acting Company's production of American Dreams, for animations by DorosMotion and Volvox, and for the theater company Mad Woman of the Woods. With LiquidBody, her work has been presented at Jacob’s Pillow, Sainopoulio, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Fort Worth Modern, Turbulence.org and Greylock Arts. She has received grants from The Andy Warhol Foundation and the Medici Circle, among others. She has an MFA from the University of California in Dance and Technology and was mentored by John Crawford, founder of the Embodied Media + Technology Performance Lab. As a musician and vocalist she has performed with The Nana Simopoulos Ensemble and the premiere of the Paul Taylor work “Oz” created for her.
